Volunteer Newsletter Editor
Club 2000 is looking for a special volunteer to put the newsletter together. You will need to have some desk top publishing skills (or be willing to learn them) using MS Publisher. A good grasp of the English language is also vital, with the ability to use grammar (reasonably) correctly and have good spelling. Club 2000 has a computer for compiling the newsletter, and also a full size office photocopier, so you will need room in your home for these items, together with an assortment of stationery (boxed reams of paper and envelopes). If you would like to have a shot at this, please let Kevin Wynn by speaking to him at Club on a Thursday night. This post would be ideal for someone wishing to learn or improve their desk top publishing skills.
We require a Volunteer Coordinator to be responsible for the recruitment, monitoring and managing of volunteers. You will need to have good communication and record keeping skills, as well as excellent management skills.
We need volunteer enablers on Thursday nights to help members to get the best out of their club night. If you have the time to spare and are a 'people person' then why not consider volunteering with Club 2000? If you've looked at the rest of this web site you will already have an idea of what we do, but we can't do ANYTHING without volunteers to help to run the activities that we offer. If you are interested, please contact us or visit the Club on Thursday night.
Volunteers for our Swimming Session
We need one or two more volunteers in the water during the Club's swimming session at The Oakengates Leisure Centre from 6.30 - 7.30pm. You don't have to be an expert or strong swimmer, or have a lifesaving certificate, but you will need to be confident enough to help our members get the best out of their fun swim session safely. If you are interested, please contact us or visit the Club on Thursday night.
Volunteer 'News Reader'
We need someone with a clear speaking voice and the appropriate knowledge and software to record our monthly newsletter onto CD so that those Club 2000 members who struggle with the written word can enjoy keeping up to date with the Club's news. Working from home,
this volunteer would need to spend approximately one or two hours each month reading the newsletter out loud and then copying it onto 25 CDs. If you are interested, please contact us or visit the Club on Thursday night.(Being considered for the future currently not running)
Volunteer Minibus Drivers - Relief and Regular drivers
Club 2000 relies on volunteer drivers to get members to and from Club on Thursday nights. Everyone who drives a Telford and Wrekin minibus MUST have or be prepared to take a Minibus Driver Assessment (MiDAS), which is paid for by Club. If you have already got an up to date MiDAS and would be willing to drive for us on at least one Thursday night each month, please get in touch with our Transport Organiser, Scott Winton by emailing Club 2000. If you don't have a MiDAS but would be willing to undergo the assessment (a good half day in the class room and an hour's driving assessment, on a separate day) and have category D1 on your driving licence or would be willing to apply to the DVLA for a D1 we would like to hear from you. Drivers need to be available from 5pm until 10.30pm on Thursday nights (a little later if there is a disco).(Being considered for the future)
Volunteer Passenger Assistant
Our Passenger Assistants are very important people! They travel on the minibuses that we hire from Telford and Wrekin Council to bring members to and from Club on a Thursday night. Their role is to make sure that the passengers all travel safely and as comfortably as possible so that all the minibus driver has to do is, well, DRIVE!If you think that you could be a Passenger Assistant and join our Transport Team, please get in touch with our Transport Organiser, Scott Winton by emailing Club 2000. Passenger assistants need to be available from 5pm until 10.30pm on Thursday nights (a little later if there is a disco). We look forward to hearing from you!
