On Sunday March 25th Rob Raine completed the Ironbridge halfMarathon to raise funds for Club 2000. It was a lovely morning and he was excited about the run. he had been training hard to prepare himself for the run. It was the perfect day for running and the sun was shining which helped me keep his spirits up. The 13.1 miles course started inside the town park with a small loop around the park, then he made his way on to the Silkin way which is lovely and flat. Then he ran past Blist Hill and then a little further into the lovely surroundings of Coalport, over the Coalport bridge onto the other side of the River Severn and over the famous Ironbridge, turning left and headed towards Dale End Park and then up a very steep hill which took him into Coalbrookdale. From there he had to go though a muddy rough park where his running shoe fell off, getting stuck in the mud. Once his shoe was back on he was nearly at mile 10 which took him on to the Silkin way again towards the finish line at the Arena in the town park. He was glad to finish and get a good time of 1hr 59 mins. Rob raised £275.00 for Club 2000.Well done Rob!
